My biggest concern is the fact that each time a new browser pops up, it causes a mad rush to make sure website will work with them. This is not a problem for those of us who know, but those who don't are left in the dust.

Hmm... I have not experienced this kind of problem with IE7. In fact I would say that IE7 for me was a breath of fresh air. Compared to IE6, which for what ever reason couldn't render some of the very basic CSS elements properly, I found that IE 7 and Firefox now look almost in sync.

The trick I found for all my CSS issues regaurdless of the browser was using the following on all my pages:

* {margin:0; padding 0;}

Now you can build your own style sheet that will render the same across all browsers.

As for javascript, I have not seen any problems in this area... If there have been, it must have been filtered out with the try{} catch{} already being used for IE/Firefox issues.

I have learned through the years not to doubt you in these areas, but do you have any examples so I don't hit any speed bumps along the way?

The listed web site is one I struggled with like crazy to platform properly. It works, thanks to several IE cheat codes. There is one hitch.

Not only are designers faced with the platform issues, but now we have to be ever more careful to design for variable Resolutions.

This site, depends on a CSS design, with Windows Cheat codes to force the pages to span accurately.

MS offers some strange new resolutions now, mostly in laptops I've found. But it is but one other nightmare to have to deal with.

I'm a FireFox fan all the way. IE isn't even capable of using as a door stop. I wish the world would finally stand up and fight back.

Peace - Serf ~
